Our Don & Sons Watmaugh Ranch Chardonnay is grown from a single-source, the Sebastiani Family’s Sonoma Valley vineyard, Watmaugh Ranch. Comprised of only 5 acres, this vineyard produces premium fruit of consistent and optimal ripeness, year after year and is planted to the Hyde-Wente Chardonnay clone, a clonal selection native to Sonoma.
Don & Sons “Watmaugh Ranch” single-vineyard, estate grown Chardonnay is a true representation of Sonoma Valley and it’s unique terroir. Family owned and grown, this limited production Chardonnay is a special release in a complimentary varietal to our Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir.
This one-of-a-kind, single vineyard, 100% Chardonnay is made from the Hyde clone—native to Sonoma. Elegant aromas of toasted French baguette, blanched almond and Asian pear welcome you. A developed palate defined by oak aging puts forth flavors of vanilla pie crust, flaky pastry, poached apricots with hints of hazelnut. Winemaker Gloria Mercado-Martín enhances the quality of fruit in the winemaking process by implementing malolactic fermentation and “batonnage” (hand-stirring the wine on its lees), which, when combined, yields a silky mid-palate. This wine is bright and unique, with the ideal contrast of minerality and creaminess.
For more than 100 years, the Sebastiani Family has crafted wines which exude true Sonoma elegance. For the last 40 of those years, they have grown Chardonnay on their family-owned vineyard “Watmaugh Ranch” in Sonoma Valley. This exceptional vineyard is located in the cool, breezy southernmost part of the Valley, bordering Carneros and nestled between two mountain ranges: the Mayacamas Mountains to the east, and the Sonoma Mountains to the west. It’s a revered region known for its unique terroir and ultra-premium wines.
In 1895 Samuele Sebastiani emigrated from Italy to Sonoma and built a thriving wine business that is now in its fourth generation. For our namesake wine, we wanted to create something truly memorable and personal. For over 110 years, our family's name has been synonymous with quality winemaking here in Sonoma. It’s where our family is rooted. Sonoma is where we live, where we work, and the only place we will ever call home. We couldn’t be more proud to carry on a family tradition with a wine that evokes the very essence and spirit of this unique and wonderful place.

This chardonnay is absolutely divine. I first tried it when purchasing at an elementary school auction in Seattle and now, I don't want anything else. It's my absolutely favorite!
