The wine opens with bright aromas of yellow apple, pear, vanilla custard, toast-ed hazelnut and freshly turned out bread dough. The inviting aromas lead to a silky mouthfeel with lush flavors of tropical pineapple and guava fruit, crème anglaise and lingering buttered toast notes. The Custard Chardonnay is richly textured and well balanced with juicy fruit and lively acidity. The wine is very food friendly and is excellent alongside a wide variety of dishes including Butternut Squash Ravioli, Fettuccini Alfredo, fresh Dungeness crab and roasted seasonal vegetables.
The North Coast AVA (American Viticultural Area) is one of California's premier wine-growing regions, covering more than three million acres in Napa, Sonoma, Mendocino, and Lake counties, as well as parts of Marin and Solano. Bordered by the Pacific Ocean to the west and San Pablo Bay to the south, the area is composed of rugged coastal ranges, volcanic mountains, gentle rolling hills, deep valleys and wide alluvial plains.
