Wine Profile

Tasting Notes Smoking Loon Red Loonatic offers abundant aromas of black cherry and violets from Syrah, blueberry pie from Petite Sirah, while its oak influences introduce hints of cedar and vanilla bean. This blend’s varietals merge together to yield decadent flavors of cherry jam, dark caramel sauce and milk chocolate. With its velvety, smooth finish, this rich red wine is perfect for summer picnics and barbecues. Well-balanced and medium-bodied, this wine pairs nicely with baby back ribs with a brown sugar rub or your favorite burger.

I give the Smoking Loon Loonatic Red Blend (RED LABEL) an Excellent Rating in its class and at its price point. If I have to rate it among all the darker reds I've tried, I give it a solid 3.9. This red blend has been said to be a burgers and fries, 2nd date wine, because it is interesting but you don't need to commit and because the strong flavors (very nicely balanced) compete with or overwhelm most foods. If you're drinking this with dinner, I'd mildly agree; choose a hot and spicy dish or something like a bleu burger. But my husband and I like this on its own--after dinner. It has soft tannins and a nice finish and its price, for the flavor, cannot be beat. Try it!~

I had the opportunity to try the Red Blend and really loved it! Of all the reds and blends I've tried, this one really stood out. The soft, yet bold taste was smooth and had a nice finish. I'm hoping you continue making this blend! Now, I want to try your other reds~

Here in Arizona it is a challenge to find good red blends. After tasting several bottles (not all at once!) of Smoking Loon Red Blend I realized there were more than just a couple or three types of varietals in this wine. Wow! I just read the complete list and that is why this blend stands out! Many flavors excite your senses each with its own experience: smoky cherry like caramel and a taste of ripe berries and then the wild essence of Alacante finish! The fact that so many varietals go into the bottle is a testament to the wine master. It is obvious that great pride as well as knowledge produced this remarkable red blend. This is a great value too. Just try and find a blend of this complexity for under 11.00 dollars!

I'm a red blend guy, and this one is my favorite regardless of price. Fruity, smooth, nice finish and with a good body. My wine rack is full of it.
