The Simple Life Cabernet Sauvignon is a pure, easy-drinking style of Cabernet Sauvignon. It offers bright fruit flavors, a soft palate with smooth texture, and very fine tannins. The core of the blend was crafted around the juicy, black fruit which is distinctive from Clarksburg and Lodi, California. Cabernet Sauvignon from these areas is known for producing seductive and richly flavored wine.
WINEMAKING The majority of the Cabernet Sauvignon fruit comes from the Clarksburg region of California with additional Cabernet Sauvignon coming from the Schatz and Mettler Family vineyards of Lodi. The wine was blended with a small amount of Petite Sirah (8%) from Lake Winchester Vineyard in Clarksburg, Tempranillo (4%) from Clarksburg’s Heringer Vineyard, Merlot (4%) from Wilson Vineyard in Clarksburg, and Malbec (2%) from Clarksburg’s Heringer Vineyard —adding softness to round out the final blend. The wine was aged for 12 months with 50% American Oak, 40% French Oak, and 10% Hungarian Oak.
TASTING NOTES The glass is filled with vibrant aromas of ripe blackberry, current, warm vanilla, and subtle clove spice. The wine is medium-bodied on the palate with lush flavors of black fruit, cocoa, and lavender. The wine offers soft, polished tannins and a lingering, flavorful finish.
